Hi there
Can someone help me please figure this out.
I sent my old 3g iphone to my brother in Florida, I am in Australia. The iphone is an unlocked iphone previously with Telstra.
I had him restore the original phone settings and apparently he got a message on itunes, that the iphone is now unlocked. On completion of this he inserted his current prepaid AT & T sim into the phone and it read a message tha he has to activate the sim.
What is the easiest way to activate the phone or are their other options that he can use e.g buy a new sim, so that he can start making calls.
Also when he got back to Florida he couldnt connect the iphone through his wifi? although it had been working fine on my wifi and others, he said he can pick up other wifi connections in the apartment but not his own!
Activating the SIM is different that activating the phone. Since you have a factory unlocked phone then the phone is already activated. He needs to contact ATT to activatge the SIM. Do not provide the IMEI of the Iphone to ATT to get the SIM activated because they may deny activation of pay and go on an IPhone. Either activagte with an IMEI from another phone or ask them to activate without an IMEI.
