iPhone 3gs firmware 6.15 problem... Please Help!!!

I accidentaly selected the erase all content and settings and it got stuck at the apple logo recovery loop.... Now when I press the power button it only shows the connect to itunes logo.I'm a noob to the iphone hacking scene so pliz can you give me some suggestions? What can be done? Is it bricked?....

i am also stuck in the same situation as explained by rexxrampuia. should i upgrade 4.2.1 and then break it once again.

you need to find another way around it because even if you try to restore or update it wont work because your baseband is too high mabe if the 4.3 update will change the baseband to a higher baseband than 6.15.00 you might still be in luck

Not really a brick yet, use redsnow to put you into dfu mode and restore to custom fw of 4.2.1 ( In your PM box)

Hi I have been getting some help from x98car, he has given me his version of 4.2.1 CFW, and run through quite a few ideas trying to fix my phone. I'm having the same problem. I hit reset all settings and what not, then I got stuck on the apple reload screen, then I restored my phone with the wrong firmware, so I got the emergency call only screen (which I wish I could get back to), and then I tried to restore a few times, and tried to upgrade to 4.2.1 with the 6.15 baseband, and ended up getting stuck in a recovery loop mode. I've tried CFW like I said, and followed precise steps, when I get to the point of restoring with a CFW in iTunes after using Redsn0w, I get stuck in the "preparing for recovery" part. I really hope you can take the time to read this and help me out. I just got this phone for 300 yesterday, and it's in MINT condition! I don't want to have to sell it for half the price for parts.

3Gs, and if it upgraded right it should be 4.2.1 on 6.15.00 baseband, but it still stayed on the recovery screen. It was 4.2.1 unlocked before I messed it up, not sure what the baseband was at that point.

By the way, I will gladly let you use TeamViewer on Mac to try and see what you can do, if that'll help. I also have a Windows 7 Starter computer.

Sorry I don't do TeamViewer anymore. Too much trouble.
What i can see is you have a tethered jailbreak. Run redsn0w again from your recovery screen and choose tethered boot only

Sadly I've tried that, and I just tried it again. It just takes me right back to the Recovery Mode screen. Any other ideas? I just decided to put it up for sale on CL for parts. . . Guessing it's trash now.

Hi Guys,
First of all I'd like to send a big thanks for iFlawless, and his input.
It works great and solve the problem if you follow the instructions without any changes. Here is what he wrote to solve the problem:

Try this for 4.2.1. If iTunes will say that wrong ipsw, it means you have 4.1. Then there is another solution with snowbreeze.

1. Open Redsnow redsn0w_win_0.9.6b5
2. Select Original 3GS Firmware iPhone2,1_4.2.1_8C148a_Restore
3. Message Box Will Pop up so Click YES
4. Select Only This Option ( Just Enter Pwned DFU Mode Right Now )
5. Dowload custom firmware. I guess the guy gave you the link. if you didnt get it, PM me for link. Save it on Desktop.
6. Open iTunes and while holding shift button press Restore, Browse to Desktop and Select Custom Firmware from Desktop and Flash with iTunes.
7. After iTunes says it has been restored, Open Redsnow redsn0w_win_0.9.6b5 Again.
8. Repeat steps 2 and 3
9. Check only Cydia and it will Jailbreak it.
10. Since its 4.2.1 you will have to run Redsnow again and check only "Boot tethered now".
11. If you need to unlock it, go to Cydia and download ultrasnow.

Please follow the instructions above and let me if you encounter any problem.

according to the devteam and many people who upgraded to the iPads baseband, you are most likely to lose gps functionality. there are a lucky handful of people who were able to have it still but they're investigating on those details and a downgrade.
