    Exclamation Invalid SIM or Searching...

I have an iphone 2G was on 3.1.3 at it's highest upgrade. Bootloaders 3.9 and 4.6. Broadband 04.05.04_G
I am in Canada, on the Bell network.
I have tried every program imaginable, redsn0w, ultrasn0w, pwnage... on both a mac and pc. It jailbreaks fine. It says it's unlocked. No Carrier or whatever listed under the general settings. I know for a fact that the SIM card works (currently though it's deactivated). I know for a fact that the phone works. Everything else works fine for me except that it can't connect to Bell, seems to have no problems with the other ones.

My next best idea came from another post off here, but it dates back to 2008, so I'm hoping there might be some newer ways to do it (without having to downgrade so far back)

"If it's 4.05.04 you need to erase your baseband with kiphone and then restore to 1.1.4 and re-unlock. If you're at 4.04.05 then I don't have an answer for you."

I've got no problem if I have to go back that far except it seems that I have to continuously downgrade iTunes and redsn0w as well. Any other suggestions?

I think your 2g is not capable of using Bell network. Bell Canada uses HSPDA for iphones. Iphone 2g doesn't have this capablity.

If that's what it comes down to, then so be it, I can stop all the alterating, upgrade it back to 3.1.3, jailbreak and unlock it and resell for only 2G GSM carriers. This sound about right? Been looking some more, and it looks like Bell/Telus didn't build a 2G network, they did go to GSM awhile back, but support nothing earlier than 3G.

Bell and Telus only offer 3G service.

If you want to use your phone you need to use Rogers
