New iPhone... but not arrived yet.

Hi guys,

I've recently bought an iPhone off eBay, which will no doubt be running the 1.0.2 firmware already, as I purchased it a week ago. I should arrive here [Australia] in the next few days.

Now that the 1.1.1 firmware update is out [and killing iPhones], is there a way to unlock the phone without upgrading to the new firmware? Some sites I've visited give me the impression that iTunes forces your iPhone to be upgraded. Is this true?

And for someone using Windows Vista, what unlock\jailbreak path would you take?

itunes does not force you to update at all.

yea that just disable all the update even the itune update. Thats wat I did and it works great for me

yea... you might want to chill at your current iTunes version too... especially if it's 1.4.1 (i think) or under

Yeah... my current version of iTunes is 7.3.2.6, and I'm running Vista 64bit... Will I need to downgrade to a previous version of iTunes?
