my cousin gave me his iphone which was locked to att. anyways i did advanced replacement since had a few issues. anyways got a new phone. wouldnt activate with my simcard. so i used limrain to activate and in gernal>about>carrier info says: Carrier Lab 8.0

It is because you use Limera1n to hactivate. You might have problem with MMS and other stuffs. It is recommended to use a valid sim to trigger it into Springboard and then activate it after you unlock. It only cost less than $10.00 to buy one on ebay.
