Upgrade to 4.2.1 with baseband 6.15
Hello everyone,
I originally unlocked my Iphone 3GS on 4.2.1 firmware but something went wrong and it got stuck in restore mode. So I booted out of restore mode using rslite, but when I booted it out it went back to 4.1 but kept 6.15 bootrom. The unlock works but I want to update to 4.2.1, can someone tell me how to get a custom ipsw that will allow me to update. I tried using pwnage tool to create one but it doesnt recognize the 4.2.1 ipsw file.....could really use some help thanks.

Your firmware cannot downgrade with a reboot, it must mean the upgrade never actually occurred. The reason pwnage tool is not working for you is that you did not drop the bundle into pwnage tool.
You should drag the pwnage tool app to the desktop right click and select SHOW PACKAGE CONTENTS, then select CONTENTS and then RESOURCES. Drop the 4.2.1 bundle into RESOURCES NB. The 4.2.1 bundle is not the IPSW Google 4.2.1 bundle get it here iPhone3,1_4.2.1_8C148.bundle.zip
After you have updated pwnage tool it will recognize the 4.2.1 IPSW.
You then run pwnage tool normally and you have to JB with redsnow when you are done.
You can also choose to wait on an official pwnage tool which already has all of this including the JB already done.
