I am a little confused as to why there is no timetable on this at all. I admit I don't know much but wouldnt the dev team or whoever is working on the unlock know how hard the new software is to unlock or not? Or is there a lot more to this process that I don't know about? Just wondering because I bought an Iphone 4 because everyone on here was saying that the unlock for Iphone 4 with the baseband I have would be released when 4.2 comes out and now it may not even be this month? I'm not angry or anything... just a little confused.

If you bought your iphone 4 for 16 gb for around $660 , brand new, you could have got a factory unlock , unless you paid like $400 for this locked iphone which require software unlock.
For all future stock updates at 4.2.1 and higher, all fw must match the baseband or you will end up in recovery mode and no more kicking out of recovery using TU

Dont worry buddy.... Im waiting too, my iphone 4 stop working last week and i went to apple and they gave me a new one but it has the new basband that cant be unlocked yet. So i have to wait... It should hopefully come out soon.

hi mates,i'm on vodafone UK,my IP4 locked to this carier.The question is:did someone try to ring them,and ask about unlock they devices(whit a good reason)for exemple i traveling in the europe,and i need to use different carier,when i'm out of UK,and when i'm in UK i use the vodafone sim.Anyone..........?I hear O2 can do,what about vodafone........
