Unlocking IPhone 3gs BB 5.14.02 Jailbroken with Limera1n

Hello Guys,

I want to unlock my iPhone 3GS on BB 5.14.02 which is already Jailbroken by Limera1n. I am not sure if it's a tethered Jailbreak or what as I am able to restart my iphone without connecting to PC.

Inspite of all the tutorials available, I still have few queries before I try to unlock and get my finger's burnt.
1)Do I have to upgrade to BB 6.15.00 (ipad)?
2)If 1) is yes, then What should I do as I already have a jailbroken iphone but with Limera1n?

3)I tried to find my bootroom version by entering DFU mode, but sems it didnt worked.I have the screenprint attached below.Not able to make out what bootrom version is my iphone.
Device Instance ID shown was
USB\VID_05AC&PID_1227\5&2C43C83A&0&2

4)If luckily I have old bootrom then jailbreaking with latest redsnow should be a untethered jailbreak right? this will ensure that I have no battery problems?

5)How Do i find if I already have a SHSH blob on saurik's server as i have a used iphone?


Please try to help me..I would greatly appreciate if someone can answer each point without any confusion.

You need to choose device instance path to find out your bootrom

It should be there. You can also download idetector to tell you what bootrom you have.

I did that, but when I click on the button after entering the DFU mode, it say's " No Device is Connected" ...

Do you have the latest itunes installed?

Yup man , it's 10.0.1.22.

Something is screwy with your usb I think. Try rebooting, using a different usb slot, or even a different computer.

So can you unlock the 3gs now without having to update to the ipad firmware?

hey... i need some help. I have an iphone 3gs. I had it unlocked with limera1n at one point. But two months ago I updated it to 4.1. Now I can't get it unlocked again. How am I supposed to do that. My phone won't even turn on now. It just goes straight to the itunes and usb screen. Can you please help me... thank you

If you have BB of 05.14 or 05.15, the answer is No, if you are in desperate need of an unlock, then you have no choice but to go with Ipad BB.

Since you have updated to stock 4.1, your BB will be 05.14.xx, if you need an unlock , then you can use Redsn0w 0.9.6b6 , browse to stock 4.1 and check only Cydia and update ipad BB.
Unlock with Ultrasn0w from Cydia.

so then, with the ipad bb. If I wanted to restore my phone or what ever. the bb with stay as is and wont go back down to 5.14.2?

Im moving to Australia and was hoping on being able to unlock my phone with out having the ipad bb. But from what you are saying, i'm going to have to go with the ipad bb. Is the dev team working on a unlock for 5.14.2?

Once the bb is upgraded to 6.15, it is stuck there until (well IF) Apple updates the 3G/3GS baseband past 6.15. So basically it'll be stuck at 6.15 for a while.
