How to upgrade from 4.1 to 4.2

4.1 with baseband 6.15 is not working properly on my 3g.is there a way to upgrade to 4.2 on windows without the pwange tool?

You MAY (and I stress may as i havent tried this yet) be able to update to 4.2.1. You will get a 1015 error, use tiny umbrella to kick it out of recovery when you do. Do not do a restore to 4.2.1, this will not work if you do. It has to be an update. If you do decide to try this please post back if it works or not.

i was able to update to 4.2 but neither tinny umbrella or recboot are able to take phone out of recovery mode.so i will have to got back to 4.1 or try to use 4.o and see what happens.

Thx. Good to know that doesnt work. I hear it does on iPhone 4 but wasnt sure on the others. Tiny umbrella should work fine to kick out of recovery on 4.1. Look out for a update to tiny umbrella soon though though as the dev is adding 4.2.1 restore and update support.

tiny umbrella and recboot work fine when you download from 4.2 to 4.1 the problem is i can get servc on 4.1 im going to try 3.2 or 4.0 and go from there.
