    Default What should i do now?

    Hey! So i have an iphone that is a 3g or 3gs, and i tried to upgrade it to jailbreak and unlock it. i got the error and now the phone is stuck in recovery mode. I NEED it unlocked and jailbroken, so what should i do from here? thanks.

    You will know if it is a 3G or 3GS by looking at the back. If it is shiny where it says iPhone it is a 3GS if it is gray and dull it is a 3G.

    What did your try updating it to.

    Its a 3g 8 gig. And I tried updating from 3.1.3 to 4.0 with itunes. Then got the error saying it had to be restored.

    Since it is the 3G just keep it on 3.1.3 because it doesn't really go to fast on 4.0. Download the firmware from » felixbruns.de but if you really want to download 4.0.2 NOT HIGHER and jailbreak with redsn0w. Google it :-).

    DO NOT DOWNLOAD 4.1 OR 4.2.1. It will be COMPLICATED if you do.

    How do I get it out of recovery mode and keep it on 3.1.3 ?

    Try using tiny umbrella from
    The Firmware Umbrella - TinyUmbrella
    And click kick device out of recovery mode.
