    Default iPhone 3gs "No Service" w/ t-mobile sim

    I've got a new bootrom iphone 3gs with 5.13.04 BB running IOS 4.1.

    I jailbroke and unlocked the phone, like I had on previous phones and have run into a problem.

    When I put my t-mobile sim in, I get a "New Voicemail" message and the red dot notification. The phone says "searching" for a few seconds then "No Service".

    I've turned off all the data stuff and tried turning on/off airplane mode, as well as reinstalling ultrasn0w.

    Does anyone have any ideas on a fix for this?

    Thanks in advance.

    I have done a DFU to 4.2.1
    I think DFU mode upgrade to 4.2.1 is the key here.

    I would try a DFU mode into upgrade to 4.2.1 then JB and ultrasn0w

    i mean DFU mode for 4.2.1 before itunes NOT recovery mode

    so the actual phone needs to be in DFU mode NOT recovery mode THEN ONLY do an upgrade to 4.2.1 in itunes,

    if you are already on 4.2.1 do it again - upgrade again but be in DFU mode

    that is what worked for me

    ==========

    second stage is the jb with cydia....which you also have to be in the DFU mode anyway
