I just followed what it said. I got the 4.1 file, selected it in redsn0w, selected the check box for the iPad band and went through the prompts

Seen a few of these errors popping up today. Apple may have cut off the access to it on their servers.

Not a huge deal. Pwnage tool method will still work. Redsnow will just have to be reworked to take the files needed from a ipad firmware instead of downloading them if that is the case.

Huge deal for me though, I'm sat with an expensive iPod touch till then my own stupid fault for doing it though. I wish had a Mac then I would use pwnage tool. How do you go about donating to the dev team? All this work n this team rocks.

They dont accept donations. You can try googling for a custom firmware with the baseband built in. Make sure you get it from somewhere trustworthy if you go that route.

Thanks I will do. I solved my problem by uninstalling iTunes and then it worked. I have not reinstalled iTunes. Thanks

Ya I actually just did a phone about an hour ago with redsnow. Worked fine for me. So apple hasn't pulled anything it seems.
