Unlock 3Gs 3.1.3(7E18) / 05.12.01 ?

This post: [How To] Check if you can Unlock says yes, it can be unlocked. It also provides the link for f0recast, which I downloaded and ran, which says:
Baseband: 05.12.01
Bootloader: 6.4
Model: MC135
Jailbreakable: Only if SHSH is on file.
Unlockable: NO
Untethered: Depends if it's refurbished.

I think this phone actually is refurbished. I have downloaded and run Tiny Umbrella and saved shsh blobs 3.1.2 - 4.2b3.

Can this phone be unlocked? If so, would I follow this iClarified - iPhone - How to Jailbreak Your iPhone 3GS Using PwnageTool (Mac) [4.1] to jailbreak, and then run ultrasn0w?

Yes it can be unlocked. The Mac version of f0recast simply hasnt been updated in forever so it doesnt know that since then 5.12.01 has been unlocked.

Yes just follow that guide
