Hi simon I have 2 quick question as I have been out of moding scene for some time .
I have iPhone 4 on 4.1 firmware 02.10.04 modem firmware which i been using on T mobile USA over a year now with Gevey sim .
Question is that is there a possible software unlock for it if I upgrade to 5.0 or 5.01 ? Or I pretty much have to use Gevey sim forever .

Second question I need a 4s from attnt i guess to be used with t mobile n what should I look for ? N will it work with gevey sim on tmobile ?

You would still be stuck with the gevey sim. If you updated to 5.0.1 stock firmware then nothing will unlock it, you would have to preserve your baseband.

There is no unlock for a 4S. You would need to buy an unlocked one from Apple.

I've got an Iphone 3g with 05.13.04 Baseband, Should i preserve it with snowbreeze?

I can't seem to find much information on this.

And another thing here, Itunes keeps suggesting I upgrade to IOS 4.2. Yet shouldn't it just recommend 4.2.1?

Yes, use snowbreeze to preserve that baseband.

iTunes says 4.2 but it means 4.2.1. Dont install the one itunes wants though as that will update your baseband.

That is an option in snowbreeze you will see. You can choose to hactivate it or not. Best to not hactivate it if you have an official carrier sim you can activate it with though.

Shouldn't I just jailbreak? Snowbreeze claims it will never update my baseband

Now, some genious decided to flash the Ipad BB on a 3GS running 4.3.3.

repeat the same process with snowbreeze? (while updating the phone to 5.0.1)

I'm getting no sim/no service problems now, occasionally the phone will pick up services but it will be 1 or 2 bars.

I have at&t iphone4 with 5.0.1 and baseband 04.11.08..it is showing “emergency calls only”..how do I activate it ? I don’t have original sim that came with phone.Plz help

redsnow 0.9.10b5 can activate it. Just choose the jailbreak option.

That is fake. There is no unlock yet for that baseband. That "patch" file is most likely a Trojan/virus.
