iphone 2g?
I have an iphone 2g, its already unlocked, but stuck on the emergency screen. Do I just need to jailbreak it?

where can I get the custom firmware? the phone is 3.1.2.

You don't need any custom firmware.
If you are willing to upgrade to 3.1.3, then simply follow this guide to JB and unlock:

To use Redsn0w 0.9.4, you don't use custom firmware, use stock firmware
