    Default jailbreak&unlock iphone 3g

    Hi'
I have Iphone 3g on 3.1.2 jailbroken and unlocked on baseband 04.26.08 and I want to upgrade to 4.0.1
Can anyone tell me how can I do it and how can I jailbreak&unlock after the upgrade.

You may want to go to 4.1 instead since it runs a little better than 4.0.1 on a 3G (but will still be slower than 3.1.2). To do it you need to use pwnage tool or sn0wbreeeze and make a custom 4.1 and restore to that in itunes so that your baseband is preserved. Once there you would install ultrasnow again to unlock.

    For Windows: http://www.funkyspacemonkey.com/sn0w...running-ios-41

Those links have step by step instructions on how to get to 4.1 and preserve your baseband. As I said in my previous post once at 4.1 and jailbroken you can install ultrasn0w from cydia to unlock. You must follow whichever guide applies to you though (windows or Mac) as installing a regular 4.1 will lock your phone for which there is no unlock yet.
