iPhone 3Gs got off of craigslist, just wiped now stuck

Hey all, I just got a 32GB 3gs, but I wiped it. Now it won't boot beyond the apple logo. I don't know what it was running before other than it was jailbroken and unlocked.

I want to keep it unlocked and jailbroken, what can I do to restore it to that point?

I assume I could just run the itunes restore, but would I be able to unlock and jailbreak after that?

So you rely on an unlock, then? If so, do not restore via iTunes because it'll force you to go to stock 4.1 firmware, resulting in a baseband that cannot be unlocked (5.14.02).

Do you have a Mac? If so, you can try to do a restore to custom 4.1 firmware created by PwnageTool. If not, you could find a 4.1 custom firmware that was created by PwnageTool (be careful of where you get these - make sure it's a trustworthy source) and then restore to that firmware through the new redsn0w 0.9.6b2 (which works on Windows).

See if that will work for you.

You only use Redsn0w 0.9.6b2 ( Not to jailbreak or you will be lock out) to put you into DFU mode and then Shift + Restore to the custom firmware.
You will need the official 4.1 when running Redsn0w.
