Need to unlock iPhone 4 on 4.0.2

Can this be done? I have a friend who has an iPhone 4 on 4.0.2 and want to use it with T-mobile. I know Jailbreakme won't work. Someone told me you can't unlock with Ultrasn0w after Limera1n.

You can restore to Pwnage tools 4.1.2 to preserve your baseband and then unlock with Ultrasn0w.

As long as it's never been updated to stock 4.1, you'll be able to unlock with ultrasn0w.
