I have an iPhone 4 - 4.0.1 right now, wanting to update
HOWEVER
Rogers (my service provider) has been 'nice enough to disconnect my phone, to a previous outstanding balance (my fault)
I want to go abouts updating my iPhone 4 to the latest version, but wonder, since my phone service is de-activated, can i still update my phone ?? or will I get stuck some where
my phone SIM is de-activated, meaning it shows that i have full reception, but if i make an outgoing call it redirects me to my service providers credit operations team, so technically i am still getting signal, all I want to do is update the phone .....
You will not have a problem updating to 4.1 there is no carrier involvement. You might want to consider using tiny umbrella to preserve the baseband for unlock if you decide to sell.
Yes, you can update your OS to 4.1 regardless of any service with your previous provider. You can also use the deactivated sim to trigger from Emergency to Home Screen.
