3gs on 4.0 GM build how to upgrade w/o updating BB

Ok so I have a 3gs newer mc model. Its on 4.0 Gm build which means jailbreakme.com crashes and cant JB it. it is possible for me to update to 4.1 without updating the baseband and then JB it?

what baseband and bootrom version do you have?

also, do you have shsh blobs saved for 3.1.3

or 4.0.1

phone was never JBn', so no blobs have been saved
it was sitting in a drawer since the 4.0GM was released
and has a 5.13.04 BB

If you're on 4.0, you can try limera1n to jailbreak and then unlock it with ultrasn0w afterward.

For going to 4.1 you will have to wait for a updated pwnage tool that uses the new exploit. You can try what dotFIVE suggested though.
