Going from 4.0-4.1 via apple approved THEN using limera1n SAFE UNLOCKING?

Hey everyone,

I am one of the unfortunate ones that got a new phone from apple that has 4.0 on it and no SHSH blobs on file from cydia.
I am now stuck at 4.0 and do not want to use jailbreakme.com in case it causes a bricked phone and i have to upgrade to 4.1 to restore as i dont have shsh on file.

SO... i need to unlock to use internationally.

Can i safely use itunes to do a standard upgrade to 4.1 and then just use limera1n to jailbreak?

i just am worried about losing my current modem firmware (baseband, right?) which wouldnt allow me to unlock at all.

Jailbreakme is pretty stable just use that, that's what I have, and then save your shah first thing, if anything limerain crap could brick your phi e before jailbreakme
