T mobile SIM for iPhone 4

Hi i have a regular size sim card from t mobile US. And the contacts are extremely large on this sim card. The contacts alone are probably the size of a micro sim. I want to cut it down to a micro sim myself, but my question is if the iphone 4 would detect the sim card since not all of the contact area is going to be tangible due to the sim tray blocking some of the contact. Anyone Have tmobile who can help me? Thanks

^ There are many threads on how to do this, also Google is your friend. Someone actually made a sim cutter that you can purchase. Sorry I don't have the links for ya,buy with a simple search , east as pie.
