Unlock 4.1 iPhone 4 and 3Gs?

My roommate has a Telus iPhone 4 on 4.1 and and is switching with a friend's Rogers 3Gs on 4.1 plus money for financially reasons. Can both be unlocked even if it is the new bootrom on the 3Gs? Will it be possible with limera1n or green pois0n?

They cant be unlocked if they were upgraded to stock 4.1. Limera1n is the only jb option for 3GS and Greenpois0n for the 4. But these are only jailbreak tools. If the basebands were upgraded with the 4.1 upgrade, then you can't unlock.

Same thing but you don't want a 3G , 3G is basically a 2g with added gps feature.
3G and 3GS use the same baseband.

Regardless of device, if the baseband was upgraded with the fw 4.1 upgrade, it cannot be unlocked.
