Unlock 3GS with 4.1?

What's going on guys, ive been doing some research and haven't found many answers. I have the 3GS iphone with the most recent 4.1 software. I am trying to unlock it to use with T-Mobile, and from all I have seen it says there is no program out yet to help me out. I haven't jailbroke it in the past, is there anything I can do yet?

I'm with you same phone same version same carrier. Sucks I'm ready to use my i but from what I've been told I just have to be patient and wait for 4.1 unlock to be released. If you get any news post it I check here daily for update.

Well its all new to me I got a great deal on the phone and bought it. All I know is its a 3Gs updated to vreison 4.1 if you have a minute and its a pretty quick process explain to me how to get the detail (baseband & bootloader) I'm hearing that alot so it would be nice to understand or at least know what I'm carring.

baseband is easy to find...

from the home screen, go to settings>general>about

bootloader is a little more difficult than that, but still relatively easy

Thank you for your help I followed every step on Redmond when I got to device instance path instead of giving me the IBOOT it just displayed alot of #'s and symbols. I will hopefully meet up with someone in this area who knows whats up and can help me out.

what does it say after iboot and what baseband do you have? then we can go from there on how to jb and unlock your 3gs... i went through this issue last week lol so the procedure is still fresh.

3GS upgraded to 4.1 cannot be unlocked at present, irrespective of firmware or bootrom.

This is because the baseband that came with 4.1 firmware is not downgradable and there is no tool to unlock it.

Model-MC136ll
Modem Firmware-05.14.02
Verison 4.1 (8B117)
then of course my IMEI#, serial# and the ICCID which doesn't haven't anything beside it.
Which is the Baseband?
Man I'm not feeling to smart right now... really not this ignorant I know how to have fun with it not dissect it.

Baseband is modem firmware - unlockable in your case

i got a firmware 3.0.1 and baseband 04.26.08
is there anyways to unlock it?

Heyitsjordan, fuzzyband is for a select number of 3g phones not 3GS

Akshion, you can use redsnow 0.8 to jailbreak then use snowbreeze to create custom firmware for 4.1. You unlock, after jailbreaking, with ultrasnow

I'm afraid not. Greenpois0n is only going to work on the iPhone 4. I think you're in for a longer wait for 3GS. Sorry

Limera1n will jailbreak your 3gs ios 4.1 download limera1n at limera1n open limera1n connect your 3gs and then follow prompts once limera1n is installed on your phone open it and install cydia.

Maybe hold off on the advice if you are not sure what you are advising.

The posters here are at firmware 4.1 and no amount of jailbreaking is going to get them unlocked. They need a new unlocking tool.

I was actually replying to dadams asking about there being a jailbreak available for his 3gs 4.1 which limera1n will jailbreak. I'm aware that there is currently no unlock for those who have upgraded and now have baseband 5.14.02. I'm also aware of the difference between jailbreaking and unlocking. Sorry for the confusion.
