Why don't you just update to 4.1 and use redsn0w?
redsn0w 0.9.6 BETA [iPhone Dev Team]

Restore to 4.0 or 4.0.1 and use redsn0w 0.9.5 then; there's a pc version of it.
redsn0w 0.9.5 BETA [iPhone Dev Team]
Edit: you can also restore to 4.0.2 for it.Last edited by mortopher; 09-26-2010 at 07:32 PM.

sorry for changing the subject but did you enter the baseband correctly?
"Baseband 05.15.01"
firmware 4.1 has 05.14.02
is that from 4.2?
?

Was it ever upgraded to 4.1? If you did then downgrading iOS back to 4.0.2 or any lower firmware will not downgrade baseband. It is your modem firmware that matters not software version. Check by tapping on settings, general, about. Look for Modem Firmware. It has to be 05.13.04 or lower. 05.14 means it cannot be unlocked.

use Redsn0w 0.9.5 and then use fuzzyband if/when it supports that baseband.

if your baseband is greater than 05.13.04 then there is no unlock tool released yet...no matter in whatever firmware(3.1.2, 4.0, 4.0.1, 4.1...) you are into....

Here's your Issue and answer
ISSUE:::
Yes, you screwed up, you put on the Beta Version 4.2 iOS and it upgraded your Modem Firmware to 05.15.01 ... THEN you used itunes or whatever means to changed the Firmware to 4.0, BUT your Modem firmware didnt downgrade, which it wont. Now you want to unlock / jailbreak / whatever you want to do why you came here in the first place. 36 hours, a 100 hours, spend all you want.. you're not going to easily downgraded that firmware with a successful outcome.
Answer:::
You're screwed, if you want a iphone Unlocked, NEVER put a beta code on the phone, thats just getting WAYY to FAR ahead of the dev team, just follow the blog daily, get into the IRC and wait for them to unlock that baseband...
Until then, well, good luck... and post your results if you find a way!! to the dev team that is...
