How to JB/Unlock iPhone 3GS 4.0.2

Hallo people,

I am new here and with iPhone and i need your help and advice.

I bought 5 days ago a new carrier locked (Mexico) iPhone 3GS with the following settings:

-Version 4.0.2 (8A400)
-Model: MC637E
-Carrier: Telcel 7.0

I've been reading websites and forums the whole day trying to find an answer. It seems that I cannot downgrade to 4.0.1 because of SHSH and there is no Jailbrake either for 4.0.2 and consequently no Unlock.


I have seen that i am not the only person with the same problem.

What can WE do in this case? I need to UNLOCK it to put my german SIM card!!!

Unfortunately you can't do anything right now with that phone.

Thanks for your response Annie...do you think soon we would have a solution? Do you think jailbrakeme.com would work sometime with 4.0.2? I really want to believe that...if not then we will be stuck with an iPhone 3GS working as an ipod...=(

Devs are working on a new JB presumptuously for 4.1. It's not clear when (I've been waiting too for my iP4 on 4.0.2) but it will happen eventually.
