Unlocking iphone 4

Guys, I'm completely new for iphone. Going to buy a new iphone 4 with ios 4 tomorrow.

I just want to know if I unlock ios4 now & than I can update my iphone to ios 4.1, I don't stick with just 4 as 4.1 has some updates such as bluetooth, sensos issues.

If so than how, or if I can't update after unlock then how can I unlock my phone after update to ios 4.1?

Are you talking about unlocking or jailbreaking?

You can't jb 4.1 on the iP4 yet. If it's already on 4.1 you can't unlock it cuz the baseband is currently not unlockable.

If you need an unlock to use the phone and the phone is already on 4.1 don't buy it. If it is on 4.0.1 or 4.0 then don't update it. If it is on 4.0.2 you can consider buying it and waiting for the new tools but do not upgrade it because you may never be able to unlock it.

Thanks for the answer guys, the phone will come with 4.0 so I can unlock it.

But I'm just not happy to stick with 4.0 & want to update with 4.1. Any option for that?

As of right now no, unless you dont care about ever jailbreaking and unlocking it, it looks like its about a week or so away

Right, I think better not to with any contract.

I need one more helps from you all. I'm in Saudi Arabia & I can't buy an iphone without contract or with very high price.

I want buy a unlocked iphone 4 from Canada, Can anyone help me regarding this. I can only pay using my credit card. thanks in advance
