Guide to unlocking & jailbreaking iphone 3g

There is no unlocking guide here so I was wondering where I can find one?

Version: 4.0.2 (8A400)
Moden firmware: 05.13.04

Is it unlockable/jailbreakable? Do I have to jailbreak it before I can unlock it? Is there a program that will do both unlock and jailbreak at the same time?

JB w/ Redsn0w 0.9.5b5-5 (point at 4.0 ipsw). Unlock with Ultrasn0w in Cydia after JB.

you'll need to downgrade to 4.0.1, 4, or 3.1.3 before you jailbreak. there is no jailbreak for 4.0.2

oh, wait, you're on a 3G. it MIGHT work, then.

4.0.2 can be JB via Redsn0w on a 3G phone.

i am new onthis site i habe q. when i downlaod firmware 4.0.1 it download on zip n when unzip this it always come on quicktime simble not as itune icon. pls help

you can try the redsn0w jb. but if you're on a 3G, you might want to consider downgrading to 3.1.3
i hear that 3Gs on 4.x are terribly slow.

then you're SOL for now on 4.0.2; try the downgrade and JBing with Jailbreakmedotcom.

Do not unzip, just rename the ext from .zip to .ipsw.

you are correct 3g on 4.0.2 runs very slow and i mean slow, worse then a Tmobile mytouch.
