so my father wants to upgrade to a iphone 4 and give me his 3G

i currently dont have a data plan but he does.
when i called an at t store they told me i have to buy a new phone in order to activate a data plan...that seems stupid.

so basically my dad will have the 200mb data plan for his ihpone 4
and ill have the 200mb data plan for my 3G.

1. if he gives me his 3G and i get a data plan then it will work fine?

2. i wont be on the 2 year contract right?

3. lastly is 200mb enough?

i dont email or anything...just using it to surf when bored. but im in an accessible wifi zone most the time.

well, if ur father opens a new line then yes its a contract....if you already have a line but put ur sim, u will get the data plan added on automatically.
