4.0 Bandwagon: should i?

have everything in place ...just need some reassurance from the experts and answers to few queries..

IPHONE 3GS (Jailbroken and Unlocked)
Firmware: 3.1.2 (7D11)
BBand Ver: 5.11.07
SHSH: : Stored for 3.1.3
Bootrom: Old

Downloaded the stock 4.0 firmware and used Sn0wbreeze to create a custom firmware, and I've come to an understanding that i need to do a shift restore and use the custom firmware and restore and then use ultrasn0w to unlock. right?

And after the 4.0 restore my base band would be 5.13.04?

is there way i can hold on to the 5.11.07 baseband and upgrade to 4.0 - so that at any point of time i can custom restore to 3.1.2? is that possible?

Once u select shift+restore then custom 4.0 fw then u will need to open cydia-manage-sources-(see if u have rep666)or go to packages search ultrasnow 0.93 install/confirm reboot device with your sim already installed.Done.

I had to be in restore mode(turn phone completely off, open iTunes, hold down the home button and continue holding it while plugging the phone into your computer with the USB) to get a custom 4.0 on my 3GS. Yes it is Shift/Restore. If you are not on an admin account then run the ITunes exe as administrator. Your Baseband should stay the same.

baseband will remain the same ?? 5.11.07? wont change to 5.13.04?

and i can reevert back to 3.1.2 custom firmware? without shsh's?

No, you can't restore to 3.1.2 if you don't have the shsh on file for it. I downloaded a custom 4.0 that was created with Pwnage Tool and I am still on 5.11.07. Snowbreeze isn't supposed to update your baseband.

one final question...my only downgrade options would be to 3.1.3 as i have the SHSH for it stored on Saurik's server. And if i do a custom 3.1.3 firmware restore (prolly use spirit to jailbreak...thats the only one which jailreakes 3.1.3 right!), will i still have 5.11.07 Baseband and will i still be able to unlock?
