How do I know?

3g 3.1.3 Spirit JB. Installed ultrasnow, reboot and it took a long while to find my carrier (Rogers Canada). So everything is now just as it was before ultrasnow, so how can I tell if it is unlocked? Also what benifits does it provide? Thanks

Get a SIM from another carrier (maybe a friend's) and put it in your iPhone. See if it finds the carrier's network and can make/receive a call.

The benefit on unlocking is the ability to use your iPhone on a different network -- for instance, people in US unlock so they can use the iPhone on T-Mobile.
