Unlocking iPhone 3GS to any network (UK)

Hello I am new here and would appreciate it if you would be kind enough to help me unlock my 'new' iPhone.

The iPhone is current on the 3.1.3 firmware, version 3.1.3(7E18) - 05.12.01

It is currently on the 'Orange' Network but I want my 'O2' SIM to be put in it.

Call orange customer services and ask them to unlock it costs £15 ( I think ) But it's well worth it

Hello, thanks for the reply. I just wiped my iPhone and upgraded to iOS4. I want to jailbreak my phone/unlock it so I think going into orange to get it unlocked would be a waste? Are there any apps released where I can jailbreak/unlock available

Depends on your 3gs model ... does it start in MC?

Yes, MC132B. At this moment in time I just want my iPhone to be jailbroken and unlocked so my O2 sim will be accepted. (Well it gets accepted and I choose O2-UK as my carrier but I get no signal.)

I am currently on a fresh install of iOS4. But am willing to downgrade just aslong as my iPhone gets Jailbroken and Unlocked!

MC model only applies to iPods, not iPhones people.
If you upgraded to 4.0 without being previously jailbroken, you cannot jailbreak or unlock as of now. You will have to wait until the next tool is released.

EDIT: I just tried to downgrade to 3.1.3 but I get the error code - 3194

Because you don't have your 3.1.3 SHSH files stored and you probably didn't even change your hosts file.

No i don't think I did. Any time period on when I can jailbreak/unlock this then ... ?

The iphone was previously jailbroke on 3.1.3 and cydia was installed but all was removed when I upgraded to 4.0... I keep seeing these SHSH blobs... How can I get these?

You can't get your old SHSH files anymore. The only ones you can get now are 4.0
You are stuck until the next jailbreak tool is released.

When you had 3.1.3 installed, did you choose make my life easier in cydia? If so you can edit your host file and downgrade.
