Activation of US iPhone 3gs

Hi,

I live in the uk and have a US version 3gs locked to at&t. The phone will not activate with any uk sim card so I a stuck as far as I can see as I dont have an at&t sim to activate it with.

Is there any way to activate this phone? It is on 3.1.3 firmware (new baseband I am guessing but cant check)

Any help appreciated as it will turn out to be a very expensive door stop in the near future

I take it a jailbreak/unlock is not possable with the phone not being activated?

Will the new Comex jailbreak require the phone to be activated as well? I really am stuck.

Hi Baggie, can I at least know what is the exact model of you're iphone 3GS?
are you 100% sure it's from AT&T? maybe I can point you in the right direction if you don't mind at all?

It is model number A1303 and it is on 3.1.3 firmware. Apple have told me it is on AT&T.

For your information i have also an iphone from Canada locked by FIDO carrier but i bought a fido prepaid sim and jialbreak and unlock and using my O2 sim in Germany...

If it's in the emergency call use umbrella to check your model:

If it's really AT&T then, Google MagicSim it's a programmable sim the trick itunes your using AT&T sim card it's very simple and 100% effective, I have used it to my AT&T lock iphone.
Or maybe you have a mobile phone repair shop nearby maybe they have a programmable sim and can help you activate your iphone here's the IMSI you need to activate for AT&T sim.

If you have program these parameters, just insert the sim then connect to Itunes then it will activate.

Thanks for all the info, no local shops had a chip so I decided to try and get my local o2 shop to unlock it for me (yes I know there was little chance) They said they would not, I asked if they could try the latest o2 chip in there which they did with no joy but then they put what they called a demo chip in and straight away it activated
