Problem connecting to the internet with unlocked iPhone 3G iOS4

So i got an already upgraded iPhone 3G iOS4 and I jailbroke/unlocked it to work for tmobile and everything works okay except the fact that I cant connect to the internet. I changed all my network settings [turned off 3g, turned data roaming on] but the one thing thats missing is my Cellular Data Network option is a On/Off toggle switch so i cant select to enter an APN address. I tried resetting the phone, with data roaming and CDN off to see if that would make a difference, and now I cant even connect to WiFi. Can come please help

Try This
Step 1: Connect to the internet via WiFi

Step 2: Go to Unlockit - APN Changer for your iPhone - in Safari

Step 3: Select custom APN and choose your carrier

Step 4: Click install for the custom APN and data should now work over 3G/Edge
