yes, pretty sure. i clicked the link in cydia that said to save my shsh, it said something about being smart for the future or some such thing

seriously, how do i add that line (74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com) to the host file?

i opened the host file and simple pasted the above language after the word "host"

now the icon appears entitled "hosts 74.208.105.171 gs.apple" and is recognized as a ms dos application. did i do that right?

Click Start
type Notepad : on top you will see notepad, right click run as admin if you are using vista or win 7
then open c : \windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts : you must choose all files to see hosts.
add the line at the bottom
and save it
Reboot and start the restore.

You can add this one if the previous doesn't allow you to restore
74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com

WOWOWOWOW! ok, so i think i ruined the "host" file. i added the "74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com" language to the file's ("host") name, and it caused the "host" file to be changed to a "MS Dos Application" file, instead of what it originally was.... how do i change it back????

Don't worry, most of the stuffs are comment off, not used until you take the number sign away.
