Will we have to upgrade to IOS 4?

At some time in the future will we have to upgrade to iOS4?

I have Itunes 9.0 and 8.2? on my other computer both with updating off, but at some point will Itunes require the upgrades? I do not trust Apple and feel like its war to keep my Iphone jailbroken and usable.

you wont have to upgrade if you don't want to... although the only thing you are missing out on are extra features. if you do a little research you'll realize even the newest itunes version is fine for jailbroken phones, the ONLY thing it can't do at this moment is jailbreak a fresh device with spirit

I had the newest Itunes 9.2 and it killed my jailbreak and tethering.

I do not want to fool with it.

Also what new features? There are none for 3g????

Wow had no idea it would mess with already exisiting jailbreaks

N i'm so used to using mywi, i forgot itunes still did tethering. But the latest 9.1.1 should be fine.

There are plenty new features in 4.0 for the 3g, my favorite being that it is MUCH snappier compared to 3.x.

But i ment new features in iTunes, but my iTunes is my primary audio program, so the little features here and there make a big difference, for me.

But I understand where your coming from, and no worries, your fine, as long as you ignore all update requests, there will be no point where apple will FORCE you to update, there are some people that don't even have internet. My uncle still uses 1.1.2 on his first gen
