Just got an iPhone 3GS and need help

I just got an iPhone 3GS from my friend that was on at&t. He had iOS4 installed before he restored it and gave it to me. Can anyone tell me how I can unlock the phone to be used with T-Mobile. Any help would be appreciated as I am new to this.

If it was not previously jailbroken and SHSH files saved you cannot jailbreak or unlock at this time.

Well you can jailbreak it.

If your phone can make it to the home screen (springboard)

Run it and you will be jailbroken, now for the unlocking part, you're in the same boat as me.. Apparently the dev team released ultrasn0w 0.9.3 but i cant seem to get the repo added because its failing, but here it is to try when u have the chance

You can try it with and without the http:// cause the geniuses forgot to mention to keep or not keep it there

Oh and if you cant get past the lockscreen, just borrow your friends simcard and have it in when plugged into itunes, it will get you past it.
