How do you activate iPhone 4 if you don't have AT&T

I have one iPhone 4 that is an upgrade (with AT&T account) but another iPhone 4 bought with no contract to be JB and unlock and used with another carrier. How do I go about activating that one ?

Is there an hacktivation for iPhone 4 yet ?

just pop in the sim from the other iPhone4 and after it's "activated" in iTunes then pull it out..

now you have an iPhone 4 that runs and is not on emergency mode. it will just say no sim.. but you can use it otherwise. And just wait for a jailbreak to come out.

I just thought with AT&T's instructions on how to activate (see pics) they were asserting more control on iPhone 4's activation.

activate the one like normal (just like you wanted to in the first place) and then pop the sim in the other and fire up iTunes see what happens from there. iTunes should 'activate' it.

yea just give them a call, have your phone on they will ask you for you some ID numbers and your account number.

Is there any way to activate iPhone4 with no preactivated AT&T card ? I have prepaid AT&T card - will it help ?

Those are called factory unlocked. How much in USD is £499 ? and can you buy from apple store UK, if you live in the US ?

I cannot speak for Iphone 4. But you can certainly activate every other Iphone with a prepaid ATT card.

i just picked up my ATT cell phone and brought it back to montreal....it comes with a blank micro sim card, and thats enough to activate the phone so you can use it....all i had to do was plug into computer with itunes, no line needed. but i decided that its pointless, and by the time the unlock comes out, i can just get one from rogers. its a sick phone, gorgeous screen, but without a line attached, its really nothing special. ill stick to my 3gs until i can get a factory unlocked (so i can use it in canada, us, and israel where i travel the most)

Well ya you can unlock it but unless you have some sort of unlocked sim or a magic sim shrinker you still have the issue of the micro sim so no matter what you can't use it. I don't have an iphone 4 yet but from what I hear they are micro sims

Ok man this is by far the easiest way to unlock a iphone, just buy an AT&T sim card, but keep in mind the iphone 4 uses a micro sim card you're used to seeing wont work. i know a few AT&T stores that convert your sims and theres some stensils online you can buy for cheap so u can cut your card yourself.

I just bought a sim card on ebay for 2.69 and got that **** in a day, i recommend this seller

Just put the sim card in while its connected to itunes and it should just pass by without really activating the sim card or anything
