Cydia always says ultrasnow has an update

Even If i go into cydia, and update it,
It will still say no service and offer me an update for ultrasnow

after restore, it no longer keeps asking me to update, but it doesn't show up on my homescreen either. it's in my cydia installed list, but no where to be found on the homescreen....

i dont know, i've never used ultrasn0w till now. if it doesn't have a gui how does one enable/disable ultrasn0w?

update: if there's no gui, then i think restoring worked for me. i ssh'd and looked at some logs and i think ultrasn0w installed successfully. now all i need is a tmobile sim card to test it...

no i've never had it as an icon. i'm unlocking my friend's phone. he was on at&t but wants to sell the phone so he's having me unlock it to sell it. its the first time jb'ing or unlocking. i have no experience with ultrasn0w before this. i switched to at&t before ultrasn0w was around.

it does say no service, but i dont even have a tmobile sim to test it with right now. i'm taking it to work with me, maybe someone there will have a tmobile sim they'll let me use.

There is NO GUI for unlock tools like ultrasnow and blacksnow. I am currently unlocked with the new ultrasnow. you just install it via cydia and then thats it. if you want your phone locked, simply uninstall it.

I did confirm mine is unlocked. however I too am experiencing the notice from cydia that ultrasnow needs updating even though it is already the latest version. I cannot make this go away. This is happening on my girlfriends 3g as well. I guess we will have to live with a little "1" on our icon until either 4.0 JB is released for 3gs or either cydia or ultrasnow are fixed. or both.

Is this the first time you are using THAT particular SIM card in your iPhone? Like was that SIM in an older style phone before? IF so, its that your SIM is too old and needs to be updated to a new style HSDPA SIM. you should contact your carrier.

I also had but I just updated ultrasnow and mobile substrate and it went away no problems

The reason why Ultrasn0w keep saying there is an update is because you have another source that also has Ultrasn0w, if you have added another source , delete the source under manage sources.
