Default Unlocked but used on AT&T

I have an unlocked iPhone 2G, and this is what I'm attempting to do:

My younger brother has an AT&T phone with unlimited data, but it is not a smartphone. When I put his SIM in the unlocked iPhone everything seems to work fine, except he cannot use the internet.

I believe it is a problem with the settings...I tried restoring the network settings, but its still hasn't worked. Does anyone have a clue how to get this to function?
It's only impossible if you quit.

I think it's because it's the official carrier and they need a special plan.

Yeah, but unlocking it doesnt let the carrier know the exact phone that is being used...hence why it works.

I think it's something in the settings like the APN or something...

You have to change the APN. Go to the unlockit website from the iphone using a wifi connection and follow the instructions. To use the unlimited data for non smartphones be sure to select US AT&T and not Fake APN. You should be able to now get unlimited data for the non smartphone rate.
