iOS 4.0 Final is Confirmed Unlockable, Maybe Even For iPhone 4 *
MuscleNerd has announced that iOS 4.0 Final, set to arrive next week, is confirmed to be unlockable for existing devices and possibly even for the iPhone 4?
@htetard yep...the final 4.0 next week will be an even later version and is confirmed unlockable (possibly iPhone4 too)
Has anyone else seen this?

Ya. My 3G is stuck unlocked on 05.12bb. I'm still kinda afraid to test out 4.0GM but I really want to give it a go. Do you guys think 05.13 is safe?

If it's unlockable, I guess that means I won't be selling my 3G anytime soon to get some of the $$ back that I will be paying for my i4. I wouldn't be able to sell it just JB for that much, right?

I just sold my 8GB 3G for 260 today via craigslist.
It's only jailbroken, but I promised the potential buyer that I would meet again to unlock it monday, or whenever it's released.
I had a few people jerk me around, but I finally found a legit buyer. So, it's possible.

this is great news...
having to lug around three damn phones (1 to charge a battery that won't boot, 1 that boots but won't charge a battery, plus my iphone) was getting really really annoying..

Why would you want to use a 3G device on a network that doesn't support the phones 3G? GOT EDGE?

There are various reasons why someone is content with EDGE only access for an iPhone. It depends on the person and THEIR situation. If you have a great rate plan with T-Mobile, but want an iPhone, it may be enough to have 90% of the functionality on a plan that's saving you $30+ a month.
I had a 1st Gen iPhone on T-Mobile USA for 2 years. I then went to a 3rd Gen iPod Touch and missed having cellular data access for apps like Pandora, ESPN Radio, i Heart Radio; all of which run perfect over EDGE for me. I love the new features of iPhone 4, so I sold my iPod and pre-ordered the iPhone 4 on the 15th. This phone will be used on a $10 add-on line that INCLUDES unlimited smartphone data.
However, this isn't my only device... I have a Nexus One and an HTC HD2 that I use for the bulk of my voice and 3G data needs. Therefore, the iPhone 4 fits perfectly for what I need on a line where I'm not paying extra for data anyway.
I'm sure others have similar reasons for grabbing the iPhone 4 and taking it to other carriers.

Idk but imdont think tmobile has a data plan that will save you 30 dollars....and 3G is more then 90 percent of the iPhones functionality...but if a person doesn't go online a lot , then I would see this as a benefit

I guess I understand if you need to save some money but I can't see not having 3G and visual voicemail.

^yea they may want it for the ipod/phone combination, or the fact that it does shoot hd video recording lol
some are on tighter budgets than others. if i couldnt afford att data plan best believe id use the iphone on tmobile or any other cheap provider, given the iphones ease and use of features alone

I guess if I had to save the $20 a month, I would consider it.

Im on T-mobile because I need a family plan and I prefer unlimited minutes and text. I have 5 lines for $225 total, 2 of those are mine with iPhones and data plan. All lines have unlimited min+text
So do the math, Im perfectly fine without 3G considering im saving a good $60+ from 2 lines
