Thread: iphone shuts off during calls
06-13-2010, 05:43 PM #1iphone shuts off during calls
Lately my iphone 3g has been freezing randomly when people call me and hanging up the call and going to the lock screen. I'm not sure why and I wanted to know if anyone else had this issue or can help me fix this. I jail broke with black snow and the apps sometimes don't work also, but that's the least of my issues with this phone!
Thanks a lot!!

i was about to do this and then it said that when restoring my phone it will give me the newest upgrade. I don't want the 3.1.3, what do i do?

do you jailbreak your iPhone? if you did then this problem is common, you have to restore your iphone to original apple restore. That gonna solve this issue.

Option+Restore to 3.1.2 by downloading the ipsw from the Downloads section here on MMi. That will avoid the baseband and firmware upgrade.
You may jailbreak and unlock again with Blackra1n and Blacksn0w.

Yeah it seems to be jailbreaking issue, mostly this sort of issue happens if you use spirit soft .iPhone unlocking and activating help -Sig. Spam is not allowed!

I tried doing that, and it says that my phone is not compatible!

Spirit requires an activated phone. You must have the official carrier's SIM for that phone to activate and use Spirit.

you are trying to downgrade the firmware version of iphone, if you updated to new baseband and bootrom then the restore will not allow to do that and it gives you compatibility issue error. Don't you save your shsh file before making any update?iPhone unlocking and activating help -Sig. Spam is not allowed!

Check the ipsw you downloaded. Using the wrong ipsw for your phone will cause incompatibility to restore with iTunes.
Make sure it is specifically for whatever phone you have. You can't use a 3G ipsw for a 3GS and so forth.
Stop telling people to save their SHSH files when they have a 3G phone. You only do that for 3GS phones.
You also can't upgrade your bootrom by software, you would have to physically open the phone to do so.
OP is also not downgrading, he doesn't want to go up to 3.1.3 meaning he is below that and is either staying on 3.1.2 or upgrading to. The compatibility issue resides normally in using the incorrect ipsw.

i'm using the ipsw 3.1.2 that i already have for my iphone 3g and nothing else!
As for the updates, i never updated to the new baseband or anything like that, i kept everything at 3.1.2 level!

Update your iTunes?
06-14-2010, 03:00 PM #13
i have the updated itunes version 9!

Can you please provide the exact error message you get?
Is it an iTunes error message?
06-14-2010, 03:13 PM #15
this is the message, nothing special about it.

Well lol i told you already, you are not using the right firmware. Either that or your firmware isnt in the right format. If it is in .zip you should change it to .ipsw
06-14-2010, 03:30 PM #17
it is in the right format (iPhone2,1_3.1.2_7D11_Restore.ipsw), this is the only 3.1.2 firmware I have, so I have no idea what's going on!!

ModMyi Forums - Downloads - iPhone 3G 3.1.2
download that and run it.
your firmware is wrong. like i said
you have a 3G and you're trying to run a 3GS ipsw on it. iPhone2,1 is 3GS, iPhone1,2 is 3G.
For additional info, iPhone1,1 is 2G See the pattern? There you have it.

You do have an iPhone 3G right?
Youre running the latest iTunes?
Did you make sure to select the correct ipsw and youre not still selecting the other one?
If that fails, you should attempt to create a custom fw via Sn0wbreeze with the ipsw I told you to download then shift+restore to the custom fw you created.
Although, i dont see why you are getting an incompatibility error.
Double check to see if you are selecting the correct ipsw. Put your phone in DFU mode first before attempting again.
