    Default iphone no service when 3G is OFF

    hi all i have iphone 3g 3.1.3 05.12.01 locked . i have problem with the network when 3G is on i have signal,but when i turn 3G off it will come NO SERVICE .. i tried to reset the network ,reset all the settings, restore the phone without any result .

    any one can help guys?

    It looks like you only have the Data Plan, did you subscribe to Voice Plan too ?

    do u have tmobile.
    if u do, the frequency for att and tmobile are different so when you turn on 3g, ull get no service.

    so tmobile only has edge

    He said when his 3G is turned off = No signal service
    When 3G is ON = Signal, really sounds like only Data Plan is subscribed.
    Really weird scenario if our aasumption is not correct.

    Edit : He should give us more details reqarding whether he is with official carrier and etc before we can narrow it down to the solution.

    I got that once. Home+power reset did the trick for me.

    Lol what is that reset called? Is it hard or soft reset?

    That is a hard reset..LOL, soft reset is just the Slide to turn off.

    hello guys .. yeow202 no it is not Data Plan bcz if i put the sim on other phone it works. i really do everything without any result . my carrier is orange and the phone is locked to orange too . i just wanna know is 05.12.01 can do this problem or maybe?

    Have u tried to reset ur network settings? I get a no service message for about 5 secs anytime i switch from 2G to 3G and vice versa. Sounds like ur settings may need to be reset on the phone and if that doesnt help contact Orange.
