NEW IPHONE 3gs. what firmware/baseband should i avoid?

i'm planning to buy an iphone 3GS 16gb. what firmware and baseband version should i avoid in order for me to unlock/jailbreak it? and how do i know the firmware and baseband version if the box is sealed? thanks!!!

If the box is sealed then it's probably running a baseband(firmware has nothing to do with unlocking) that cannot be unlocked. There is no way to tell which baseband/bootloader it is with a sealed box... But regardless you will still be able to jailbreak your phone.
