to bad they didn`t put a realease date for the unlock 3.1.3 5.15.01 new bootloader 6.4 3G and 3GS we all w8 on forums to see if it appears

I think that the 6th started because that is the date of the iphone conference where steve will most likely unveil the iphone 4g. and release iphone 4.0

but it may be the 7th,
and could just be a rumor

All just rumors. The teams never release a ETA or a release date on jailbreaks or unlocks because of the huge backlash they had when the one time they did.

I think it was before the 3.0 jailbreak. They missed the ETA and people went nuts.

I don't get it... how do they know Apple won't have found and patched the exploit in the 3.1.3 baseband on the 4.0 baseband?

Because the apple firmware is so big,
and apple may know we have found an exploit,
but they wont know exactly where in the firmware its at until its released.

So they are saving it for the 4.0 update,
which technically raises our basebands to 5.13.01

but this is just a reliving of when 3.0 came out.
It was hard to unlock that too at first!

It's like a game of poker. Would you want to let on you had a good hand, if it stays as a rumour apple don't really know or want to waste resources of looking for exploits, as just now its all hot air on blogs and forums.

If they say they have one and it's coming officially, instantly resources to finding the exploit will quadrupal from apple.

Ok, so one more question. I have an 3GS that's bricked and on 3.1.2. Should I restore to 3.1.3 now before 4.0 comes out or should I wait/will this also work for 4.0?

Do not upgrade yet.
Just wait for news from the dev team.

If its bricked,
You could try to restore to 3.1.2

so you dont upgrade your bb or anything

3gs with old bootrom running 3.0 and unlocked with purplera1n (a long time ago). It's been bricked the last month with no option to back up as I am an idiot and didn't do it.
