iphone 3g legit att sim: No service

"waiting for activation"

with no service at the top.

But the sim is totally legit and should activate in seconds.

Whats going on?

did you pay for service on the sim if not then it will say no service

This makes me sad.

Because when i restore it,
and then connect to itunes

I get

"waiting for activation. This could take a while"

I have 2 iphones,
If i put my sim in 1,
I get service.

In the other,
no service

Mmm, yer that sounds strange - maybe a hardware issue by the sounds of what you describe above.

Have you tried restoring again, this will flash your baseband again upon restoring, your present bb could be corrupted...hope this is a solution.

yeah jus did and and still the same problem it says waitinf for activation with no service at the top then when i get out my house it says iphone is activated then at&t will show up at the service then itll go away and show no service the whole time and once in a while itll go back to at&t service but with one bar then go to no service again!!

Where did you buy your phone? It could be locked to a non-US carrier, in which case a legit AT&T sim will not activate.

Try and switch another AT&T sim card, if it works, then the Sim Card is faulty. If it doesn't, i am pretty sure it a a hardware problem on your Iphone....

No it couldnt be locked to a non-US carrier because it was my brothers phone and he was on AT&T and it worked perfectly fine but he had it for a few months w/o using it and about trying another AT&T sim card i cant do that because im the only one in my fam with AT&T ill have to find a friend with a AT&T sim card thatll be hard all my friends have T-mobile! -__- idk i think my bro tried jailbreaking it once and ruined it all but still there has to be a solution out there PLEASE HELP! would unlocking it help? its on 3.1.3 tho unlockable!! -__- should i downgrade and unlock it see if that works? even tho im on a legit AT&T contract -__-
