Question about this Cydia update for my iPhone 3G
I have an iPhone 3G.
Version: 3.1.2 (7D11)
Model: MB702LL
Modem Firmware: 05.11.07
My iPhone 3G is both jailbroken & unlocked.
When I open Cydia, it tells me I need to download these essential updates...
It says the following:
Downloading - 1.1 MB
Disk Using - 224.0 kB
Modifications
Install - iPhone Firmware (/sbin)
UIKit Tools
Upgrade - APT 0.7 Strict (lib)
Cydia Installer
system-cmds
Is it okay for me to do this update or will it wreck my iPhone 3G?
As for, will it harm my iPhone 3G in any way, shape, or form.
Also, it won't upgrade my iPhone's Firmware to 3.1.3 will it?
That's why the iPhone Firmware (/sbin) is making me scared...
I just need to make sure my iPhone 3G will still be unlocked and jailbroken.
Is there any chance of my iPhone 3G not working correctly after this update?
Thanks for your time.
What's Jailbreak?
No, this will not upgrade your firmware, it just makes some changes Cydia needs to do. I've always done every upgrade on my 3Gs that Cydia pops up with, and I'm still on 3.0.1. You can trust Cydia, it won't update anything that will damage your phone.
