need help how to exit in emergency call mode/connect to itunes
hello there. i really need help from somebody out there who had tried and figured this out.
i have an iphone bought from someone without its original box. it is a 3GS 32 Gb model. i had it jailbroken and unlocked it last february from a friend but it was a tethered jailbreak. i mistaken turned it off and it put on connect to itunes. in my effort to solve the problem by my own i upgraded it to 3.1.3 FW.
as i tried to activate my iphone, the screen is lock to emergency call mode and connect to itunes.
appearing topmost portion of the screen is a "no service", "a digital clock" when at emergency call mode.
at connect to itunes mode, what appears on the screen is:
"no service" and "a padlock".
i tried again to restore the OS to 3.1.3 firmware but appears on the itunes is
" the sim does not seem to be supported by the carrier"
at the moment I am using SOFTBANK as my carrier.
please help me how could i get out of this emergency call/ connect to itunes mode.
waiting for your reply.
thanks in advance.

The only way to activate is with a SIM from the carrier the phone is locked to.
Once activated you will be able to use the phone as an ipod Touch but will not be able to unlock.
Can a Mod please move this to a more appropriate section? He who asks a question looks foolish for 5 minutes. He who doesn't ask a question remains foolish forever.

have you tried jailbreaking? activation is skipped by it. however it doesnt work with all 3GS's at the moment and if yours doesnt you will have to wait until OS 4.0 jailbreak.
i thought that too.
@confucious: you live in Woking?? thats like right next to me (almost) im in Witley atm

The only place I'm a mod is the Dev Team's blog.

Why?
They asked if I wanted to be a Mod, I said no. They said they would make me one anyway in recognition of all my help but I didn't have to do any moding.
That just left Angie struggling by herself so I had to help.
Anyone else and I wouldn't have done it but I owe the Dev Team so much I had to help and Angie needed some help (even she needs some sleep) so I had no choice. He who asks a question looks foolish for 5 minutes. He who doesn't ask a question remains foolish forever.

Why would anyone want to be a mod?

I'm not sure why anyone would want to be a mod - it's a thankless task.

The zeal thread is only available to mods here.
Time is money - if I charged my normal rate I'd be rich - but the Dev Team would be richer! He who asks a question looks foolish for 5 minutes. He who doesn't ask a question remains foolish forever.
