clear instructions on unlocking a 3G iphone 3.1.3
Can anyone give me clear instructions on how to unlock my iphone 3G 3.1.3? I've read many of the forum discussions but am still unsure if I can; one second they appear to say it's possible then something about reloading firmware. I'm a novice at this and too many technical terms are not helping.
Regards Pete

Any phone that has been upgraded to 3.1.3 in iTunes cannot be unlocked because the baseband (modem firmware) is permanently upgraded to 5.12.01 which is not unlockable and there is no unlock being developed for that firmware.

I think dogdaysunrise means using a CFW to upgrade with so your modem firmware is not changed but as far as I know there is no public unlock for the latest modem firmware......
