HELP iphone 2g "unrecognized and cannot be activated"

I brought a jailbroken and unlocked iphone off trademe.co.nz and recieved it all working and in good shape UNTILL i connected it to itunes and upgraded to firmware 3.1.3.
After that upgrade my phone is stuck on restore mode (picture of usb cable pointed at itunes symbol) and just shows an option for emergeny calls... PLEASE I REALLY NEED HELP TO ACTIVATE AND ENABLE MY iPHONE. Its my first one im soo gutted.

When connected to itunes it says: "Theres a problem with your iphone". Then: "iphone is not recognized and cannot be activated for service...."

can someone give solution to this problem PLEASE.

IVE ALSO TRIED, restoring it, black rain, ziphone, redsnow.

Shift+restore to 3.1.2 ipsw and jailbreak with Blackra1n then unlock with BootNeuter from Cydia. Put phone in DFU or restore mode when doing the shift+restore process.
